Danville Pharmacy, a respected closed-door Long-Term Care pharmacy with a strong reputation for exceptional patient care and customer service, is seeking a part time or per diem Pharmacist to join our team in our fast-paced, high energy, team-oriented environment in service of patients in our partner long-term care facilities (Assisted Living/Skilled Nursing), personal care and group homes, correctional facilities, hospice care centers, and mental health/addiction rehabilitation centers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and interpreting new physician medication orders for appropriateness and interactions
- Checking orders packed by technicians in multi-dose blister packs for accuracy
- Provide clinical support to nurses and doctors in long-term care facilities
- Coordinate timely delivery of medication to facilities
- Deliver quality services and ensure prescriptions are correctly filled
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Pharmacy
- Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Experience in long term care pharmacy preferred, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medication management, and related laws and regulations.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and continuous improvement.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with nurses and doctors
- Ability to work within a team environment and provide excellent service
- Knowledge of QS/1 PrimeCare system a plus
- Ability to work during hours of operation of Monday – Friday from 10am-6pm, alternating Saturdays, and shared on-call responsibilities.
